Lana Nguyen

Undergraduate Student

Lana is a sophomore at UC Berkeley studying Molecular and Cell Biology. She is working with Dr. Jacob Hilzinger, contributing to the development of novel strategies that build on the engineering of cyanobacterial Spirulina to produce pharmaceuticals, nutrients, and bioplastics in support of human space exploration. Her research interests focus on molecular therapeutics and synthetic biology with applications in healthcare. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, going to the beach, and playing the guitar.
