Spencer is a junior at UC Berkeley studying molecular and cell biology. He is interested in using metabolic and protein engineering to create sustainable materials. Spencer is working with Jake Hilzinger and Kyle Sander on constructing and screening a high-complexity library of PHA synthase mutants to identify beneficial epistatic interactions.
